Every 26 seconds...Tick...Tick

Many students are bored in everyday classrooms. Each year over 1.2 million students drop out of high school in the United States alone; that's one student every 26 seconds – or 7,000 studens a day. These numbers are mind-boggling - completely astounding!  Tick...Tick...

We are the Music Industry Leadership (MIL) 101 class at Stockbridge High School. This class is a part of Usher's New Look Foundation's effort to reach out to high school students. The New Look foundation specializes in recognizing the vital need for positive role models and mentors for children and adolescents to help find ways to provide a better life for them. MIL 101 is also working in partnership with the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at Stockbridge High School to reach out to the youth of its community.

Our mission is to provide an avenue for students to experience and gain a greater understanding of the logistics behind making music for major artists, movies and other venues that have music as a primary source for product promotion.

Our goal for this conference is to reach out to high school and middle school students of our community to do our part to try to help lower the drop-out rate – particularly in our own community. We also believe for many students, it will kill the boredom and offer avenues of hope for a brighter future.

Our vision is to take "This Is How We Rock Extravaganza"  to schools throughout Georgia and then to schools and communities worldwide.
